I'm still reeling from my last trip to Hatta – the scenery is breathtaking. And, honestly, it's a steal for AED 20. But what really drew me in was the tranquility of the mountain pools.
So, you'll want to take the E611 from Dubai, it's about a 2-hour drive. Look, I know what you're thinking – that's a long way. But, trust me, it's worth it. Our driver, Khalid, was a total pro and got us there in no time.
Here's the thing: Hatta has so much to offer. You can hike, camp, or simply take in the views. I opted for a hike and was rewarded with stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains. And, after working up an appetite, I headed to the Hatta Fort Hotel for a delicious plate of machboos for AED 50.
If you're planning to stay overnight, the Hatta Fort Hotel is a great option – rooms start at AED 400 per night. Honestly, it's not the cheapest, but the views are unbeatable. On a clear day, you can even see the Burj Khalifa in the distance – I've had the chance to visit the Burj Khalifa 124/125 – Peak View Experience and it's truly awe-inspiring.
So, before you head out, make sure to pack plenty of water and sunscreen – the sun can be intense. And, don't forget your camera – you'll want to capture the stunning scenery. I visited on a Friday, December 17th, and the weather was perfect.
