Dubai After Expo: What's Still Open

Roamigo Team June 03, 2026

Expo Legacy

I visited the Expo site on February 10th, and I was surprised to see that some pavilions are still open to the public. You can explore the Expo area, and it's free to visit, although some exhibits may charge a fee, like the Al Wasl Plaza, which costs around 120 AED per person. So, if you're planning to visit, I recommend checking the official website for updates.

Pavilions and Exhibits

Look, some pavilions are still showcasing their innovations and cultural experiences. I recently visited the UAE Pavilion, and it was impressive, with interactive displays and stunning visuals. Honestly, I was blown away by the sheer scale of the pavilion. The pavilion is open from 10 am to 10 pm, and tickets start at 50 AED. You can also grab a bite to eat at one of the many food trucks, I had a delicious Shawarma for 20 AED.

Getting There

Here's the thing: getting to the Expo site is relatively easy, you can take the metro to Expo 2020 Station, and from there, it's a short walk to the site. And, if you're driving, there's plenty of parking available, just be prepared for crowds on weekends. But, I recommend avoiding peak hours, as traffic can get congested on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Other Attractions

I'd recommend combining your visit to the Expo site with a trip to the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Aquarium, it's a great way to spend the day. You can also take a day trip to Sharjah, and explore the city's cultural attractions with a guided tour, which costs around 250 AED per person. My driver, Ahmed, was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Practical Tips

So, if you're planning to visit the Expo site, make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be doing a lot of walking. You should also bring sun protection, like a hat and sunglasses, as it can get hot during the day. We booked our tour through Roamigo Trips, and it was seamless, you can also book tours to Abu Dhabi and other destinations through their website.
