I recently took a dhow cruise down Dubai Creek, and it got me thinking — what's the difference between that and a luxury yacht charter? You'll pay around AED 500 per person for a luxury yacht, while a dhow cruise can cost as little as AED 150.
So, I decided to try both and see which one I preferred. I booked a luxury yacht charter for my birthday, on February 12th, and it was an unforgettable experience. We sailed past the Burj Khalifa, and even stopped for a swim near the Palm Jumeirah.
Honestly, the luxury yacht charter was incredible — we had a personal chef on board, and the food was amazing. I ordered the seafood platter, which was freshly prepared and cost around AED 200. And, the views of the Dubai Marina were stunning. But, it was pricey - we paid AED 2,500 for the whole day.
Look, the dhow cruise was a more laid-back experience, but still lots of fun. We boarded the dhow at the Dubai Marina, near the Jumeirah Lake Towers metro station, and set off into the evening. You can get a dhow cruise for as little as AED 150 per person, which includes a buffet dinner and soft drinks.
Here's the thing: both experiences have their pros and cons. The luxury yacht charter was more expensive, but it was also more personalized and exclusive. The dhow cruise, on the other hand, was more affordable, but it was also more crowded and noisy. If you're looking for a unique experience, you could also consider visiting the Burj Khalifa or checking out the Motiongate Dubai theme park.
If you do decide to go for a dhow cruise, I'd recommend booking a Premium Marina Dhow Cruise, which includes a more extensive dinner menu and better views of the city. Tours can be booked through Roamigo Trips, and they'll take care of all the logistics for you.
