I still remember the night of April 15th, when I headed to Sheikh Zayed Road to experience my first Iftar in Dubai. The city transforms during Ramadan, and I was curious to see how it all works.
So, Iftar is the meal eaten after sunset, and it's a big deal in Dubai. You'll see people gathering at mosques, restaurants, and even on the streets to break their fast. I joined a group of friends at a restaurant near the Dubai Mall metro station, and we paid around AED 120 per person for a delicious buffet.
Look, there are plenty of options, but some popular spots include the Dubai World Trade Centre, where you can find a massive Iftar tent, and the Jumeirah Mosque area, which is beautifully lit up during Ramadan. We took a taxi from the Dubai Frame, which cost around AED 50, and headed to a restaurant on Jumeirah Beach Road.
Honestly, the atmosphere is amazing, with families and friends coming together to share a meal. And, you'll find a wide range of traditional Arabic dishes, like luqaimat and harees. But, be prepared for large crowds and long queues, especially on weekends. Our driver, Ali, warned us to arrive early, and we're glad we did.
So, if you're planning to experience Iftar in Dubai, make sure to dress modestly, especially when visiting mosques or traditional areas. You'll also want to book your Iftar buffet in advance, as prices can range from AED 100 to over AED 500 per person, depending on the location and quality of food. After Iftar, you can head to the Dubai Frame to take in the stunning views of the city.
And, if you're interested in exploring more of Dubai, you can book tours through Roamigo Trips, like the 1 Day 2 Parks. So, to make the most of your Iftar experience, arrive early, be respectful of the local customs, and don't be afraid to try new dishes – you won't regret it!
