Stroll Along Abu Dhabi Corniche

Roamigo Team April 23, 2026

I'll never forget my visit to the Abu Dhabi Corniche on a sunny January 15th — the perfect day for a stroll. The Corniche is an 8km stretch of promenade that's perfect for walking, jogging, or simply taking in the views. You'll find plenty of food and drink options along the way, from cafes to restaurants.

Getting There

So, how do you get to the Corniche? It's easily accessible by taxi or car, and there's plenty of parking available. If you're using public transport, you can take the bus from Abu Dhabi's main bus station, or take a taxi from the city center for around AED 20-30. I took a taxi with my favorite driver, Ahmed, who dropped me off right at the start of the promenade.

Things to Do

Look, there's plenty to do along the Corniche, from visiting the Emirates Heritage Club to taking a dip in the sea. And, if you're feeling adventurous, you can even rent a bike and cycle along the promenade. But, be sure to stay hydrated - it can get hot, especially during the summer months. I ordered a fresh coconut from one of the street vendors for AED 10, which was the perfect refreshing drink.

Eating and Drinking

Honestly, you won't go hungry along the Corniche, with plenty of options to suit all tastes and budgets. From street food to high-end restaurants, there's something for everyone. I stopped at a cafe and had a delicious shawarma for AED 15, which hit the spot after my walk.

Practical Tips

Here's the thing: the Corniche can get busy, especially on weekends and during peak season. So, it's a good idea to get there early to avoid the crowds. You can also combine your visit with a trip to other Abu Dhabi attractions, such as the Abu Dhabi City Tour or a visit to the nearby Sheikh Zayed Mosque. If you're looking for more activities in the UAE, consider checking out the Museum of the Future in Dubai or taking in the views from The View at The Palm.
