Surviving Dubai Summers

Ahmed Al Rashid June 15, 2026

Summer in Dubai

I still remember July 15th, 2022, when I stepped out of the Dubai Mall metro station and was hit with a wall of heat. Temperatures were soaring at 45°C, and all I wanted to do was find some shade. If you're planning to visit Dubai during the summer, don't worry, I've got you covered. We've got plenty of indoor activities to keep you cool.

Indoor Activities

So, what can you do indoors? For starters, you can visit the Museum of the Future – it's air-conditioned and costs around 50 AED per person. Honestly, it's a great place to learn something new while staying cool. And if you're looking for something more relaxing, you can always head to the Dubai Mall and catch a movie at the cinema.

Evening Activities

Look, I know what you're thinking - what about evening activities? Well, I'd recommend taking a Dubai Creek Premium Dhow Dining Experience. It's a great way to see the city from a different perspective, and the cruise usually takes place in the evening when it's cooler. Plus, you'll get to enjoy a delicious meal on board for around 150 AED per person.

Desert Safaris

Here's the thing: desert safaris can be a bit challenging during the summer, but they're still doable if you take the necessary precautions. I went on a Desert Safari with VIP seating last summer, and it was an amazing experience. Just make sure to book a morning or evening safari to avoid the heat, and don't forget to wear sunscreen and a hat. But, be prepared for the heat — it won't be easy.

Staying Hydrated

And, let's not forget about staying hydrated. When I'm out and about in the city, I always carry a bottle of water with me. You can buy a bottle of water at most convenience stores for around 5 AED. It's also a good idea to avoid walking around during the hottest part of the day, which is usually between 11am and 3pm.

Practical Tips

So, to sum it up, if you're planning to visit Dubai during the summer, make sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take advantage of the many indoor activities the city has to offer. You can book tours like the ones I mentioned through Roamigo Trips — they offer a range of activities and experiences that are perfect for the summer season. One practical tip I can give you is to always carry a portable charger with you, so you can keep your phone charged and navigate the city with ease.
